Basically it's a craigslist for startup ideas and projects. As you serial entrepreneurs know, it's often hard to abandon a great project, but you only have so much time.
This is a way for you to share your project you've been working on and find a replacement. You are the founder. They become the step-founder. You basically hand off the project to someone you trust and can advise.
People can post projects or apply to be step-founders. The goal is to connect great ideas to people passionate about the ideas.
The domains are so registered. Anyone know of something similar or have thoughts?
Nate,
sorry you were ill'in... i did pitch (sorta) your idea... they were closing pitches and i forced a 'last one' but it was a spin off - i explained 'step founder' and merged it with online community where folks could come and 'pitch' their biz plan and raise startup or expansion cap - like Kiva.com where individs could put in any amount of money until aggregate amount was amassed - then biz launched or expanded...
founder could offer idea up for step founders... vetting process
have consulting, evaluation, advise area (could be monetized) to offer help rounding out, developing idea/biz plan...
have a monthly or weekly 'pitch night' via web conference etc... it made it into 2nd round but didn't go to top 5... i think we should start 'Startup Yearround' (why wait for a year?)
do monthly pitch camp - which i found a better venue to develop and improve ideas... you could still ask folks to collaborate if something really thrilling came up and do you own 1 group weekend to flesh and launch.. this way we keep creative juices flowing all year and engage more people and keep continuity and develop better community...
