Nate, sorry you were ill'in... i did pitch (sorta) your idea... they were closing pitches and i forced a 'last one' but it was a spin off - i explained 'step founder' and merged it with online community where folks could come and 'pitch' their biz p…

I've got pneumonia so I won't make it tonight, likely all weekend. But in the spirit of the concept of stepfounder, someone feel free to be stepfounder to the pitch and run with it. I can jump in later where I can. I'm so sad to miss startup weeke…

How about this... develop the site to connect founders to stepfounders but add a fundraising element... like the micro-loans for Kiva - you aggregate start-up money with many passive investors to help launch the business... (I pitched this as a Twit…

This may sound odd--and rather simple--but given there are so many crowd sourcing websites. I believe there are 200+ (which I'm sure is just scratching the surface). It would be interesting to aggregate all the cool ideas in one spot so you didn't h…

Definitely a cool idea, I love it. A couple questions: 1. How does it make money? Charge to let the founder post? Charge to let the potential step-founder reply? Some value-add services (background screening for potential step-founders, etc.)? 2.…

I'm w/ Nate on this. The site would be more about candidate screening than idea sharing. I like it! I'm in the process of looking for a stepfounder for an idea so I can definitely see the potential.

Hey Nate,

I'm the owner of a tech community venue in Lexington, KY called Awesome Inc. We've hosted SW a few months ago here and now we're having a Mobile miniConference on July 18th. There will be speakers from the original facebook mobile, Yahoo!, and speakers on Google Android, Palm Pre, the iPhone. We'll even have a workshop that will walk you through how to build your first iPhone app.

Just wanted to let you know since you're obviously into the tech startup scene in some way, and you're not that far away from Lex (and this is the only mobile conference (that I've heard of) in the midwest).

Have a good day, and I hope to see you up here if you can make it!

Oxygen (Encouraging audience) a spark (my idea) and fuel (pursuing it)

I wanted to thank everyone for being an encouraging audience when I made my pitch Friday! I respect the group a lot for the head nods and the patience as I stumbled through.
I realize my idea for supporting homeless bloggers didn't have a real business model that made money, so it made sense that it was weeded out, since it lacked a larger entrepreneur angle.

But simp… Continue
